My name is Ssemjon Gerlitz, originally coming from Germany and came to live to Nyksund in year 2000. I loved this beautiful and unique place because of its combination of nature and history…. what was perfect for my new life. I started with renovation of Holmvik Brygge building, spending many months, years to get started to use it as guest-house where people can feel its special atmosphere. Today we run this guest-house as a family business. We take care that our guests feel comfortable. This place was and still it is one of the most unique and beautiful for me, therefore I recommend you to visit us and get your perfect holiday here.

Holmvik Brygge is a historic guest-house. Nyksund was very productive fishing village in the past. Many people lived and worked here as fisherman or worked in fish factories which were settled here. Because of a ships improvement, the Nyksund harbor get to small and people moved from here to places whit better harbor condition. For many years was nobody living here. When we came here we founded here a lot of history from old fisherman daily life, but also crashed buildings which needed a lot of renovation. Holmvik Brygge building was built from 4 other houses that were here before. We kept as much material as was possible to give to this guest-house look and atmosphere like it was 100 years ago. This makes our building different and unique. You can see and feel the fisherman history but still have high comfort and amazing nature just on the touch. Plus, we are running our own Restaurant Holmvik Stua which is on the down floor of Holmvik Brygge. Here you can taste our 100% homemade and traditional food. All our fish and meet are coming from local fisherman and farmers. We serve dishes from Atlantic fish, whale, reindeer or lam.

From our place you can experience many activities. Here starts the famous hiking tour Dronningruta which brings you throughout mountains to nice fishing village Stø and by seaside leads you back to Nyksund. You can easily reach activities like fishing, whale and orca watching, eagle and bird safari, Sami reindeer farm, husky slide and many others.
