Welcome to the House on the Lake! You can find us a mere 15 minute drive from Harstad-Narvik Airport in the small village of Bogen i Ofoten. We are located just off the main road, and you can park on the property itself or just across the street, 4-5 meters from the entrance. We have made a great effort to upgrade and modernise this old building and make a SIMPLE, yet comfortable holiday home. Children and pets are welcome but we do recommend that children are supervised and wear a life saving jacket when they play near the lake/river. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please do not let the dog sleep in sofas or beds, other guests might be allergic. The view from the house is simply stunning, with the lake, the river, the mountains and the sea just in front of your eyes!
We are very proud of our gorgeous region and want to share it with you. We are very approachable and speak several languages. We are happy to help you rent a car at a reduced price, please just send us a message after you have confirmed your stay with us. We are also happy to give you more information about local shops, museums, cultural events, day trips etc. Just send us a message and we will do our vey best to ensure you have a great stay. We live off-site but our contact details are made available on the entrance door.
Bogen i Ofoten is a lovely little village just about 15 minutes drive from the Harstad-Narvik airport. If hiking is your thing, you can start your hike from the house and enjoy kilometers of well marked public footpaths. You can easily reach Lofoten and Vesterålen for exciting day trips, or you can discover the nearby cities of Harstad and Narvik. Both cities have a varied selection of restaurants, shops and bars and both cities sport fabulous ski resorts. Harstad also has a great indoor water park - Grottebadet. About 1 hour's drive from home, you can visit the fabulous Polar Zoo and get to learn more about the local flora and fauna. Ofoten is a diver's paradise with many shipwrecks from WW2, and you can learn more about the Battle of Narvik in the nearby village of Bjerkvik or at the Narvik War Museum. You can also explore the very rich Sami culture, either at the Gallogieddi Museum or through private organisers in the nearby hamlet of Snubba. The local supermarket is very well stocked and the XY petrol station also has a pub and serves food. Enjoy!
