We took over the management of six apartments in Skanckesmuget 1 after building up solid experience with similar short-term rentals elsewhere. Skanckesmuget 1 is located in the heart of Tromsø city centre — a two-minute walk from Storgata, the city's main street with shops, cafés and restaurants. Everything you need to explore Tromsø starts right outside the door. Within walking distance you will find the Polar Museum, Polaria, Tromsø Cathedral, the Arctic Cathedral and the harbour promenade. Nitty Gritty restaurant, Vervet Bakeri and a wide selection of dining options are in the immediate vicinity. REMA 1000 grocery store and Veita shopping centre are just a few hundred metres away. Tromsø Langnes Airport is five kilometres from the apartments. The airport express bus (Flybussen) stops 400 metres away and runs every 20 minutes — journey time is approximately 20–25 minutes. A taxi takes around 8–10 minutes. Tromsø is the world's northernmost city of its size and is considered one of the best places on earth to experience the northern lights. The season runs from September to April, with October through March offering the darkest skies and highest activity levels. From late May to mid-July the sun never sets — the midnight sun provides a magical, diffused light around the clock and creates an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.
