Orkla Herd AS offers accommodation in the historic mining town of Løkken Verk. We have 25 rooms in Orkla Gjestebolig (Orkla Guest House) and 8 budget rooms in Bergmannshuset (The Miner’s House). Both buildings are centrally located in Løkken Verk. We love being hosts and are delighted to share the rich history of Løkken Verk with more visitors. It’s our pleasure to offer you a warm welcome and the opportunity to experience this unique and historic location.

Property info

Orkla Guest House Originally used by the company Orkla to host important guests and events, the building features 25 unique rooms, a banquet hall, meeting rooms, and lounges, all adorned with Orkla’s art collection. Since January 2016, it has been managed by a foundation and remains a prime venue for events and conferences.

Løkken Verk is nestled in the heart of Trøndelag, surrounded by stunning nature offering countless opportunities for adventure. Here, you can enjoy scenic hikes, find tranquil fishing lakes, or try your hand at salmon fishing in the renowned Orkla River. Løkken Verk is a small village that was built around the mining industry, which began here in 1654 and continued for 333 years. Although the mines have now closed, you can still experience the mining community's rich history. You can visit Gammelgruva to learn more about historical mining practices or take a ride on the Thamshavn Railway, Norway's oldest electric railway. Gammelgruva and the museum are open year-round, while the historic railway operates during the summer season.
