Sakrisøy Gjestegård that has been adapted in the rooms of Solbakken Manor House in Sakrisøy is one of the major projects of the owner and heritage of the family. Our rooms has been open for individual guests since the summer 2017. From that time we have been collecting experience of the local businesses and feedback from our guests to provide stays in the historical property in Lofoten, one of the most beautiful destinastions in the world. Please notice: in the property you can find only some rooms which have cooking option. Those rooms are called: King room with side sea view, King room and Deluxe Suite with sea view. All other rooms has no access to the cooking facilities. Beacasu of the wooden building it is not allowed to use your own cooking equipment in the rooms. you will find in the main floor the water boiler, coffie machines almost in all rooms. You can prepare your own sandwiches and it it comfortably in our eatig space with having in mind sharing this space with other guests. We are looking forward to host visitors willing to explore Lofoten or simply stopping by on their business or leisure trips

Welcome to Sakrisøy Gjestegård housed in Solbakken Manor House in Sakrisøy, dated back in 1880. Owner of the Manor House, Carl-Fredrik Gylseth is the fifth family generation of the property, having taken over in 2008 from his grandmother and grandfather, Gunvor and Svenn Gylseth. After their passing, extensive restoration work has begun around the gardens and considerable effort was put into restoring the house to the classic style of former times. In september 2019 another stage of reconstruction and refurbishement started to provide travelers that choose to stay in the manor astonishing views from the rooms and high comfort of their stay. Property is unique in the area in the terms of providing safe stay to the guests by installation of integrated fire safety system. Since summer 2020 we have been happy to again welcome guests to the new and exciting experience in Lofoten Islands.

Neighborhood info

Our guesthouse is located on the island Sakrisøya, in west part of Lofoten archipelago. The area is known of world famous stock fish and seafood commodities, such as smoked salmon and trout. Surrounding islands and mountain ranges are popular amongs hiking and cyckling travelers. Bike rental is available in the neighbourhood in the summer along with all kinds of water acivities, like kayaking or rafting. While your stay you can join a boat trip to the fjord and watch orcas playing if they are in the area or take fishing trip with genuine fishing boat. Many photographers choose Lofoten islands due to dramatic natural landscapes, full of contrasts scenery and unforgettable Northern Lights shows. In winter time You can try fresh cod in one of the local restaurants. From the last days of May to around middle of July you can experience midnight sun which gives boost of energy and let you enjoy the landscapes all day round. As a hosts we are happy to provide you information on summer or winter activities and popular hiking trails along with recommandations for local restaurants and cultural offer in the area.
