Excellent conditions for photographing the Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights. Do you want to experience the Arctic in all its diversity? The house is relatively new and fully furnished with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and seating area. It accommodates up to 6 people and is ideal for a family or group. It also has a large balcony with stunning views of the Porsanger Fjord. In response to health care, we carry out additional safety and sanitation measures, including disinfection with AntiBac and full ozone (O3) cleaning of the house between arrivals. During winter, it is possible to book guided snowmobile tours for Northern Lights hunting or ice fishing on one of the many lakes in the Arctic wilderness. Trips range from 1 to 6 hours. You can either drive your own snowmobile or sit comfortably in the sled. The house also has facilities for charging an electric car. Smørfjord is a small village on the western side of the Porsanger Fjord. It has 80 inhabitants, most of whom are traditional Sea Sami people.

We (Kristine & Edmund) will do our very best to ensure you have a lovely stay as our guests. We can provide advice on how to get to Smørfjord and recommend nice places to visit. We can also offer an introduction to nature, nighttime, and aurora photography. It is also possible to order local food that can be enjoyed in the house or outside in a lavvu. We can arrange guided snowmobile trips, where you will have the chance to drive your own snowmobile to search for the northern lights or go ice fishing.

The following places can be reached by car within 1 or 2 hours: - Nordkapp: the most northern point of the European continent. - Gjesvær, nearby Nordkapp, nice fishing port. - Trollholmsund - this area is dominated by dolomite (limestone) rocks and stones. •Hammerfest: Important fishing port with big gas export port •Honningsvåg: The most northern town of continental Europe. •Havoysund: A beautyful little fishing village. Near one of the largest bird cliffs in Norway (Helmoystauren). •Lakselv: The administrative center of the Porsanger municipality. •Karasjok: Here we find the parliament of the Sami population and also an outdoor museum of the Sami population. •Alta: Petroglyphs (Unesco World Heritage list). Karigasniemi - the border to Finnland is about 160 km drive from Smørfjord and about 290 km to the nearest finnish airport in Ivalo. Reachability: •With the plane to Alta (110 km), or Lakselv (70 km), or through Finland, Ivalo airport (300 km). •With the Hurtigruten (boat) to Honningsvåg (95 km), Havøysund (80 km) or Hammerfest (83 km). Groceries/gasoline: Nearby in Olderfjord (5 km) is a gasstation, electric charger and a little grocery.
