Dahachok Homestay is located in Khahare Chowk, Dahachok, just 12 km from Thamel and around 6 km from Kalanki, offering a peaceful hillside escape that is still close to Kathmandu city. The homestay sits between two popular hill destinations, Chandragiri Hills (cable car base station about 2.5–3 km away) and Indrasthan/Kalupande Viewpoint, both of which can be reached by short hikes or local walks. From the property, guests can enjoy views of the Kathmandu Valley and observe the cable cars operating on Chandragiri Hill. The surrounding area is rich in nature and local life. Indrasthan Hill features dense pine forests in its midsection, making it ideal for hiking, picnics, and camping, while small temples and forest monasteries add a cultural touch to the experience. Guests can also enjoy village walks and explore nearby rural settlements, offering a glimpse into authentic hillside living just outside the capital. Access to the homestay is convenient by taxi, motorbike, or private vehicle, though the final stretch of road inside the neighborhood is gravelled and narrower compared to the main road. The property is about 1 hour from Tribhuvan International Airport depending on traffic. The area is also known for its simple and organic lifestyle. Locally grown vegetables are served fresh from our own kitchen garden, while other ingredients such as rice, dal, eggs, chicken, and dairy are sourced from nearby farms. This allows guests to experience truly fresh, farm-to-table Nepalese food in a natural hillside setting.
