Property info

The traditional Newari house was built a few years after the devastating earthquake in 1934 A.D. Special attention was given to the architecture of the house. With strong and unique wooden framework the house restrained the major earthquakes in April and May 2015. It has been certified safe by NEA (Nepal Engineering Association) and has been renovated. The flexible wooden structures not only give Hiranya Guest House a strong skeleton but also shows authentic Newari aesthetics.

Patan is a renowned destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, which have prospered as an integral part of the rich culture and tradition of Newari people, the indigenous inhabitants of the Kathmandu valley. Here, the exquisite works of religious art and architecture depict a blend of Hindu and Buddhist culture and vouch for the skills and expertise of local artisans, passed down through their forefathers. This small town offers many historical sites such as the four Ashokan Stupas built by The Emperor Ashoka during 250 BC and the Golden Temple that dates back to 12th Century, etc. Culture and tradition are kept alive during the various festivals celebrated in the streets and temples.
