Two generously sized bedrooms accommodate queen beds and offer fabulous views of the sea and native garden. The third bedroom overlooks the deck and patio area and provides a fabulous hang out for the kids with two single beds, 40 inch LCD TV, DVD player and Xbox 360 complete with a great selection of games and DVDs. Situated in central Oamaru, easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops; Aqua on Reed provides an excellent ‘home’ base while exploring the many fabulous attributes of North Otago.

Having stayed in many holiday homestays in and around Australia and New Zealand; we believe that self-contained holiday homes are a fantastic accommodation solution, particularly when travelling with friends, family and children. We have taken the best from our experiences and created a special place that we hope will delight our guests each and every time they stay. We have lovingly renovated and furnished this 1910 property with a desire to create a homestay that will invite people to relax and unwind in a casual setting with all the modern creature comforts of home. We have landscaped extensively and selected largely NZ native plants and shrubs with the intent that it will showcase New Zealand’s natural beauty in our own backyard, particularly to overseas guests. In time we hope that our landscaping will reflect that of a NZ coastal bush walk and create yet another connection to our natural environment. As passionate DIYers the creation of Aqua on Reed has been a labour of love. With future plans in order to further enhance our guests experience it continues to be a work in progress with plans to add a hot tub and covered outdoor kitchen in the not too distant future.

Oamaru features many great attractions and excellent facilities. For cuisine lovers there are an abundance of restaurants and cafes in and near Oamaru that specialise in excellent local produce. Let's not forget a visit to Whitestone Cheese, Scott's Brewery, The New Zealand Whisky Company and the local farmers market. History lovers will enjoy taking a step back in time as they stroll through some of New Zealand's most beautiful heritage architecture in the historic Victorian Precinct. North Otago is steeped in history and a visit to the North Otago Museum and Steam Punk museum will be sure to please. For those seeking a spot of much deserved retail therapy there are a large selection of boutique stores, shops and antique stores to fossick through. Outdoor adventurists and lovers of nature will enjoy the beauty of the public gardens, exploring the harbour, driving round the coast, visiting the Yellow Eyed Penguin Colony, and setting out on the ever popular Alps to Ocean Bike Trail.
