Welcome to Ashton House, one of Napier's oldest and most iconic buildings, situated on the beachfront on the Marine Parade, in the hub of the City. Ashton House, built in 1875 as the Napier Courthouse, has a rich and fascinating history that reflects its significance as a colonial landmark and community hub. The building has entered a new chapter as our family home, and we have converted the lower South Wing to a beautiful two-bedroom self-contained apartment, with a library/office, front lounge and side lounge with a dining area and kitchenette. The two large bedrooms were previously one courtroom, and the luxury bathroom was once the holding cell for prisoners! Located next to the MTG arts centre, a minute’s walk to the sea, or to the Ocean Spa hot pools, or less than a minute to some of Napier’s best cafes and restaurants. It doesn’t get any more ‘front row’ to be immersed in Napier’s iconic events, including the Art Deco festival, sporting and cultural events at the Sound Shell.
Located on the beautiful Marine Parade, Ashton House provides a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the seaside city while being in the hub of the vibrant cafe and restaurant scene. Neighbouring the MTG arts centre and a 1 minute walk to the popular Ocean Spa pools or to the beach and promenade. Napier's library, theatre and retail shops are right on your doorstep.
