Spacious, warm and full of character, the home is ideal for families and groups of friends, comfortably accommodating up to seven guests. Upstairs, you’ll find two generous bedrooms and a modern bathroom, while downstairs features the master bedroom with its own ensuite. An additional single bedroom provides a cosy space for a child or solo guest. For larger groups, an extra single mattress can be arranged on request, allowing the home to accommodate up to eight guests. Comfortable beds and quality linen create a restful place to retreat at the end of the day, while the home’s peaceful setting offers the chance to slow down, unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Kaikōura.

Repurposed timber and natural materials have been thoughtfully incorporated into the homes, while the surrounding landscape has been carefully cultivated with native planting initiatives. These plantings provide valuable habitat and feeding spaces for local birds, insects, and other wildlife. Hamish also tends a large organic garden, growing an abundance of seasonal produce and embracing the simple pleasure of eating from the land. For guests who would like to experience this for themselves, Hamish is a fully qualified chef and can prepare a three-course dinner on request, showcasing seasonal ingredients grown on the property. In less than 5 minutes driving, you can find yourself at the best surf spots in Kaikoura or bike ride to a well maintained track that follows the Hapuku river to the ocean (20 min) and continues to Mount Fyffe (1h) (there is a possibility to hire bikes directly with us - on request). In the heat of summer, if you feel like having a refreshing swim, take a 10 minute walk to the Hapuku river swimming hole.
