This is a unique place to stay in Whanganui - or New Zealand in general. Set on your own section, this former city bus has been converted into a comfortable, upscale accommodation. Formerly owned by a local artist, it's also been given a unique mural on the outside. Inside you'll find the colours of our local beaches, blues and gentle greens for the sky and water, dark grey for our volcanic sand beaches, and white to brighten it up. Bedding is completely over the top luxurious for your best nights sleep. We have proper plumbing in the bus, so there is a full size shower with soap and shampoo as needed. No matter the weather, the bus has a heat pump for heating and cooling so you stay comfortable year round. There's a Smart TV and unlimited WiFi, as well as a work station if needed. For kitchen there's a fridge with freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, and a bbq on the deck. Plenty to warm something up or make something fresh. We have the Citadel Cafe just down the street on the weekends. Outside you can enjoy your morning coffee (coffee and tea provided) on your private deck, listening to the sounds of the sea and the bird life. ** Please note: there is a big set of stairs (see pics) to access this property. At the top is a little bench to enjoy the sunsets from. :)

Welcome! We have lived here by the beach in Castlecliff since 2018. We're so excited to share it with you in this unique and comfortable way in our converted city bus! I have travelled so much in my life and the best part is meeting people from all around the world. Since moving to NZ I travel a little less, so hosting is a great way to meet new people from exciting places. I'm happy to help in anyway you need. I'll let you set the pace with interaction. There's a book in the bus with recommended activities and places to eat in Whanganui - but if I can be of help in anyway, just let me know. We have pets, a dog, Nui, and a cat Ana. Both are friendly, but won't be jumpy or over the top. If you prefer not to meet them, just let us know and we'll keep them off your section.

We just love this neighbourhood! It's a real mix of old and new, but we have found it to be friendly and a great place to live. The beach is just over the dunes, so a nice walk on the beach is as easy as stepping out the door. We have a great cafe (The Citadel) about a 5 minute walk away. There's a Four Square shop just a 5 minute drive away, so everything you need is close.
