Property info

Manakau PurePod is a secluded, off-grid glass cabin designed for privacy and total immersion in nature. Set in Kaikōura, this adults-only escape invites guests to switch off and unwind, with uninterrupted views of mountains, farmland, and native bush from a thoughtfully designed glass retreat. Its sustainable, off-grid setup combines low-impact living with modern comfort, creating a distinctive eco-luxury experience. Positioned on a quiet spur, the pod looks out across rolling farmland toward the Seaward Kaikōura Range, including Mt Fyffe and Manakau Mountain. Nearby, more than 200 acres have been restored to native kānuka forest, supporting local birdlife such as South Island robins. At night, the skies open up for exceptional stargazing, with no neighbouring accommodation in sight. Surrounded by birdsong and native bush, it’s a peaceful setting for couples seeking space, stillness, and expansive mountain views. Manakau PurePod is 20 minutes inland from Kaikōura, 2.5 hours north of Christchurch. Guests drive via rural roads to a designated parking area, then walk 10–15 minutes (approx. 900 m) along a farm track and through regenerating bush. Guests should be comfortable walking from the parking area; arriving before dark is recommended.
