Situated in Marahau and only 400 metres from Marahau Beach, Ocean View Chalets features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. With both of us having been born and raised in the area, we are passionate locals who look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you. Chris grew up in Mārahau (onsite) and is a 3rd generation accommodation provider - her parents built and operated the chalets for 26 years and her grandparents had a hotel in Germany. Jared is from Upper Moutere and has a back ground in building and marketing. In our down time we love to explore the NZ mountains and back country tracks, spend time at the beach with our dog (Dell) or just relax in the sun. We are delighted to be able to offer guilt free accommodation - since April 2020 we have been certified Climate Positive (Ekos accredited), this means we offset 120% of our carbon emissions. We are also constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance our relationship with the environment and community around us. We have recently started a trapping network (Mārahau Halo Trapping Project) with over 70 traps now spread through the Mārahau Village and both volunteer for the local rural fire force and Civil Defense.

Nestled among native bush, the free standing, private one and two bedroom chalets offer full kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and balconies with panoramic sea views. Our semi-detached petite studio rooms have a queen bed, en-suite bathroom and coffee and tea making facilities. They also have a shared balcony with sea view. Join us for our optional breakfast buffet (extra cost applies) in our reception or enjoy your own breakfast with a view from the privacy of your room.

We are located in the heart of Mārahau within easy walking distance of all Mārahau has to offer. With a takeaway burger bar, restaurant (500m) and the entrance of the Abel Tasman National Park (500m) to the left and both water taxi companies (500m & 1km) a restaurant (1km) general store (1km) the beach (1km) and several kayak companies(300m-1km) to the right you can leave your car behind and enjoy exploring our beautiful village under your own steam.
