Oldfields has been our family home for 27 years. We've loved it. We want to share it and allow people to experience the serenity and wellness that we have experienced. The home is surrounded by lawn and mature trees, with the tranquility broken only by bird song

Sue has had a career in education, John in Primary Health Care in the community. Our interests are wide and varied. We have travelled widely - both globally and within New Zealand. Mountaineering, hiking, biking, fishing, golf, gym work outs, walking, rafting, are all activities we enjoy but we balance that with community involvement, writing, reading, movie watching, poetry, chess, and voluntary third world mission, Sue helps out on a voluntary basis at the local hospital A & E Department.

South Canterbury is a special area; 'Lord of the Rings' scenery, Maori rock art, bush walks, mountain trails and wild rivers and lakes. We can take you trekking or on fishing expeditions. John is the area's Tourist Ambassador and is available for guided 4WD trips to Mt Sunday, and /or the Ashburton Lakes, biking or walking history or ecological tours of the area. Tourists are well catered for with activities; horse riding, rafting in season, fishing, casual golf and mini golf, a renowned vintage car and farm machinery and military museum. Winter sports are close at hand with nearby skifields at Mt Hutt, Mt Dobson and Roundhill offering varied grades of skiing and heli skiing. Farm visits can be arranged.
