Kia ora and welcome! We're Bob and Lyn, your hosts at Pītokuku House on Great Barrier Island. Built in 2021 and tucked into native bush, Pītokuku is a contemporary off-grid retreat with floor-to-ceiling windows framing ocean views out to Pītokuku Island beyond the Sugarloaf headland. The open-plan living area has beautiful timber floors, a wine fridge, beer fridge, Nespresso, and a cosy wood burner. Step through to the covered rear deck — big outdoor lounge furniture, an outdoor fireplace, and views you won't want to leave. A king bedroom (splits to twins), a queen bedroom with a large ensuite in the main house, plus a cosy nook for two. A separate cabin just off the back deck has a queen room and four bunks — perfect for kids or another couple. There's even a half bathroom on the deck so cabin guests don't need to come through the main house at night. Laundry with washing machine and dryer on site. Outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. Solar-powered, off-grid, and five minutes to Medlands Beach.
