Situated with amazing views down the east coast of Otago on the edge of Oamaru. This modern cabin is ideal for a quiet stay, only a short drive from the Oamaru's Historic Precinct and town centre. It is open plan with a queen bed, kitchenette with fridge, hob and oven, plus microwave and washing up facilities. Coffee, tea and cow's milk are provided. A private shower and toilet adjoin the living area. A large deck is great for taking in the view of the Pacific ocean, as far as the Otago Peninsula on a good day and out to the Kakanui Range, a great place to enjoy a glass of the local Waitaki wine.

We have been in Oamaru for over 22 years & are involved in the local community, especially within the Historic Precinct, where Dawn owned a gift shop until semi-retirement. Plus, we have been involved with the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust, who own most of the buildings in this area, together with strong connections with the business community. Dawn has written 3 children's books about the Little Blue Penguins, after one visited the shop and donates to the Oamaru Penguins from every book sold. Oamaru and the Waitaki District is a great place to visit and live. More than just a one night visit.

Oamaru and the Waitaki District are outstanding, with plenty to offer from the Alps to the Ocean. Oamaru is on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, it is renowned for it's collection of Victorian architecture, Little Blue Penguin Colony, Steampunk, the country's oldest public gardens, plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants too. The A2O Cycle Trail runs through the district and it also has the UNESCO Waitaki Whitestone Geopark, marvelling in a land of geological and cultural marvels. In November, Oamaru hosts the Victorian Heritage Celebrations and in June, it's the Steampunk Festival, just a couple of the festivals on offer. The area is enriched by the passionate and sometimes quirky and definitely talented locals.
