Our newly restored apartment is centred right in the heart of Oamaru in a building constructed in Oamaru's famous limestone. Built in the 1880's & completely restored in 2016 . The position is incomparable for convenience with a 50 metre walk to the closest restaurant & a minute away from the Victorian Precinct and main street. Also 50 metres from St Lukes Anglican church which is Oamaru's main wedding venue. Within easy walking distance are many cafes, restaurants and unique galleries. The Oamaru Port Warehouse area is now home to many quirky stores & galleries. Also close at hand is Oamaru's famous Little Blue Penguin colony. The Whitestone's position is unparalleled in Oamaru & despite being in the hub of the town is both private & quiet. The studio apartment is designed specifically for a couple. Attention to detail has been paramount in The Whitestone's setup with a top quality queen-sized bed & French leather club chairs set off with wonderful original art & furnishings. The kitchen, dining area is large & generously equipped. The bathroom, also, has been completely renewed.

The apartment is furnished with our collection of Javanese folk art pieces & Katy's paintings. Many of these are for sale. The apartment has a secure area for bike storage and there is a large garden to enjoy.

The Whitestone is situated in the absolute centre of Oamaru. Oamaru is a unique town in New Zealand in that it was constructed in the mid nineteenth century using limestone which is quarried locally. The level of preservation of the old town is superb. Close to the apartment is the fabulous "Victorian Precinct" which houses many galleries & quirky shops as well as restaurants & cafes. There is also a world class boutique brewery & whiskey distillery. Oamaru also hosts a large colony of the Blue Penguin. Viewing these wee birds returning home at nightfall is "a must". In short lots to do in the area. For those keen on fishing or hunting there are lots of options.
