A summer house for up to 10 people on the shore of a lake, set on roughly one hectare of partly wooded land that borders the forest and has its own stretch of shoreline. The house is 110 m², built and furnished in the spirit of a forester’s lodge. On the ground floor: a kitchen with an antique tile stove, a living room and a shower room. Upstairs: three bedrooms and a second bathroom with a bathtub. There are two fireplaces and a large terrace where most meals end up being eaten, looking out over the water. The kitchen has a fridge, a gas hob and a kettle. Down at the water there is a private pier for fishing or sunbathing, and a rowing boat you are welcome to use. On the plot: mini football goals, a basketball hoop, a grass court for recreational tennis, a golf range (250 m) and two mini-golf holes. Rackets and tennis balls are provided on request. We renovate it every year, but the character here is rustic and lived-in - wooden surfaces, vintage furniture, the old tile stove. Standing right against the forest and the lake also means insects find their way in, and sand and pine needles travel indoors. That is part of the deal living on countryside. It is a summer house with no central heating. Both fireplaces work, and we leave plenty of blankets and an electric heater for cooler evenings - but if you are travelling outside high summer, come prepared for that.
