Aljana is a family business, created by two sisters with a passion for the Alentejo's slow living. With experience in the hotel and food industry, and a special sensibility for Architecture and landscaping, together they sought to create a unique space that celebrated the architecture of Alentejo, as well as the welcoming art these people are knowned for. Investing in attention to detail, and local products to provide the most confortable stay. In the same family for over 150years, the house has been brought carefuly back to life as a remarkable hotel with a sense of place. Here, the feeling of being at home is importante to us, and every detail is atended to bring you that feeling.

At Aljana Guest House we privilege the quality of our guests' stay, advising them to enjoy the peace, calm and tranquility so typical of the south. Located near the Castel of Beja, it has in its proximity to the Cathedral of Beja its greatest valence, enjoying unique views of the bell tower.The simple elegance of traditional architecture, and the care in detail, provide an unique ambiance to the hotel.Each room with an independent bathroom has an identity always reflecting the comfort and quality that govern us. All common areas, in open space are for the exclusive use of guests, with several seating areas perfect for relaxing in a peaceful environment. The outside dining area is designed to take full advantage of the brilliant Alentejo light with its airy, shaded open-air terracefacing the gardens.

Of Portugal’s few remaining untrammeled urban gems, it’s Beja, in Alentejo. A small city you can walk across in half an hour, that has remained largely off the international radar. Aljana was recently characterized as part of the built complex of the Cathedral of Beja, we are in Largo do Castelo within walking distance of the main tourist spots in the city, as well as some of its best restaurants.
