A concept of simplicity, tranquility and comfort, in the heart of the village of Alcaide, in the Serra da Gardunha mountains. We welcome you to experience a bit of the history of this picturesque village and its surroundings with a stay at Casa do Visconde. A manor house dating from the end of the 19th century - the character of the building marks a time and a village, through its imposing architectural features and the use of materials characteristic of this region. We decided to transform this building into a rural tourism facility, developing a range of comfortable double rooms and suites, some of them new constructions and others reconversions of the ground floor of the house, which include kitchenette and lounge area. The rooms are brand new, with ensuite bathroom, air conditioned and equipped with fridge or mini-bar. Common spaces include an outdoor garden and patio area, breakfast room and common room.
Alcaide is one of the oldest, prettiest and most vibrant villages of Serra da Gardunha and of the municipality of Fundão - a mountain village located on a buttress on the northern slope of this mountain and about 6 kms from the city of Fundão. Considered a typical Beirã village, here you can enjoy the nature that surrounds the village, the traditional festivals, the gastronomy and the strong sense of history. We can offer advice on what to see in this beautiful region and where to eat. There is a great selection of restaurants in Fundão and the surrounding area serving the famous local cuisine as well as many other options.
