We fell in love with Sertá because the pace of life is slow,but enriched with a passion for good food,wine,and friendly people. The town is picturesque, the large river dominates the centre of town and pine covered rolling hills surround Serta. We have some of the best restaurants in the area and Serta has a famous dish, Maranho & Bucho,which is celebrated throughout the country. We love the traditional "Xisto Village houses" made of local stone. Whilst renovating Casa Lerryn we were determined to retain the rustic stone to stay in keeping with the village homes we admire. Sertá is unspoiled, a secret escape! Its also very affordable. We fell in love with the simple way of life that still exists here,locals work on their land,grow a lot of their own food and respect the beautiful land they live on.Its so peaceful here,and feels safe. The Zezere river has an amazing depth of colour, seeing it by boat is an excursion that's simple to arrange, leaving from Dornes. The natural river beaches are clean,quiet and safe,offering an opportunity to feel close to nature. The Atlantic coast boasts Figueira da Foz and Nazare where guests have surfed.

Aveiro is vibrant, colourful with plenty of fish restaurants offering their fresh catch of the day.
