The guest house is equipped with many conveniences. There is WIFI and a stereo system that can be operated via Bluetooth connection. You can only watch television via your own streaming services. It is possible to watch NLZiet and Netflix. A remote control is available for this. All connections are via WiFi. For the colder evenings there is a pellet stove. This stove is fired with pellets. These 15 kg pellet bags are available from the manager. The hot water supply is provided by a private 100 liter boiler Every morning around 5:00 (except on Sundays) the baker comes by with fresh rolls. These can be ordered by the guest themselves and collected via a box on the facade. You can also place your order with the manager before 22:00. It turns out that the guest brings more people than the guest booked. This is not fair and is very rude. In these cases, the manager will request payment of an extra standard amount You are the only guest. So all facilities such as garden and swimming pool are for you alone. The managers do come regularly to maintain the garden or to check the swimming pool. We do expect that everyone who uses the pool can swim. If a child cannot swim, parental supervision is required and life jackets are used. Bookings for a minimum of 3 nights!

After our retirement, we (Marjo and Jan) moved to Portugal in 2022. It is good to stay here and we feel happy and satisfied. Because there is also a guest house at the house, we came up with the idea to rent it out after the renovation in 2024. This way, guests can also enjoy the garden, the swimming pool and the surroundings of Castanheira de Pera. There is a large garden on the property. We can be found here every day for maintenance and, if necessary, watering plants and refilling pool water from the large well. The swimming pool is located next to the well, which is checked regularly. There are good restaurants near Castanheira de Pera if you don't feel like cooking. The house is located in the village of Castanheira de Pera. Previously a wealthy village due to the cotton industry. The old wealth is still clearly visible in and around the village. For hiking enthusiasts, there are many hiking trails and trails. What is really recommended is the “wooden stairs route” (Ribeira das Quelhas). The managers can provide you with further information about this. Of course, the main attraction of Castanheira de Pera is the open-air swimming pool “Praia das Rocas”, about 2.8 km away or a 4-minute drive. Which is located in the middle of the village. In and around the village there are several river beaches "Praia Fluvial", but if you want to experience the real sand-beach-sea, it is an hour's drive away, for example Praia do Pedrogão with delicious drinking and dining options on the beach. There are also plenty of restaurants in and around the village for an afternoon or dinner.
