At Quinta das Lavandas (Lavender FArm) there are two seasons a year: the lavenders and olive trees. The lavenders are queens in summer; and the olive trees are prevalent in the fall and winter. Although the owners of Quinta das Lavenders (Teresa and Estêvão) have done almost all his personal and professional life in urban areas, and as always they were great lovers of nature, they are today two enthusiastic of the field, where they perform themselves many of the activities of the farm and like to share with guests: be in balmy conversations when the weather invites to get cozy by the fireplace, either in the field, when the countryside tasks are performed, particularly lavenders. When launched the project of Quinta das Lavandas (Lavendeer Farm) Teresa and Estêvão knew nothing about this amazing and versatile plant: today share their enthusiasm about the plant with all who visit them, whether the information on the most common tasks, collecting and processing plants post-flowering or the millennial oil extraction process by steam process, issued in the still existing in the farm . The guests of Quinta das Lavandas (Lavender Farm) can find inside the house a contemporary rustic, materialized in a modern decor, in clear and open tones that create an intimate atmosphere and ensures full relaxation during their stay on the farm. Paintings of Portuguese painters give the house a touch of magic and to dream, because guests have the feeling of moving in different environments. Outside the property guests can stroll throughout the farm and journey deep into the rocky outcrops or enjoy, depending on the seasons, the colorations of the extensive existing oaks trees. And, of course, when summer begins, is the time to come to Quinta das Lavandas (Lavender Farm) to enjoy the magnificent lavender fields and lavandim. This is the time when the Quinta das Lavandas becomes a small Provence and all of our guests and visitors are left captivated by the serene and exhilarating beauty of the beautiful lavender plants. The Quinta das Lavandas (Lavender FArm) is located in Alto Alentejo, specifically in Castelo de Vide municipality, this is without doubt (just see the comments of our guests) one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal. With trees, lots of trees: chestnut, oak, cork, ... with birds, many birds: eagles, magpies, orioles, ... and lots of water (two dams nearby and sources, many sources). A description of the area is not complete without rocky outcrops, the dry stone walls which forms boarded up, the chafurdões and huts or the immense traces of past civilizations: megalithic or Roman. The village of Castelo de Vide, whose profile is observed to clearly from the Quinta das Lavandas, has one of the most important Jewish quarters in Portugal, a medieval neighborhood within is castle and a historic center of bourgeois profile that is truly remarkable.
