This unique building was designed by its previous owner, an architect who poured as much love into the house as he did into the surrounding grounds, which feature a working vineyard, fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a fish pond and a small stream. As if the tranquil environment wasn’t relaxing enough, the property also benefits from a swimming pool, sauna and boules court. We’re joined on the property by some furry (and feathered) friends - a dog, a cat and 10 chickens. Home to the Zêzere river, the Leiria district is known for its river beaches and waterfalls and the quinta is a great jumping off point for many scenic hikes and cycle rides - bikes are available to hire. There is a great community feel to the local area with the nearby café/bar hosting regular events, music nights and workshops.

Despite its rural setting, the quinta is only ten minutes drive (or 30 minutes cycle) from 2 small towns that serve as a hub for the local community. Pedrógão Grande features an excellent vegetarian cafe/bar, as well as a movement centre. Castanheira de Pera is home to a fantastic cafe/patisserie and a delicious pizza restaurant. The quinta is also a 45 minute drive from the historic city of Coimbra, whose university buildings were said to inspire Hogwarts from the Harry Potter novels.
