Maarten van Luyt, born in the Netherlands, is a winemaker in the Douro. He produces his own wines under the LUYT label, in the Douro Valley. A stay with Maarten takes you into the daily life of the winemaker, full of adventures and encounters. When you choose to Stay at the Winemaker, you stay at Maarten's home, in his modern Quinta de Alaude. The Quinta is located in one of the most beautiful places in the UNESCO World Heritage area of ​​the Douro, far from any crowds in an oasis of tranquility. Here you will experience in an ultimate way how people live and work in this fantastic port and wine region. Maarten is a fantastic winemaker, inspiring and very educational. Quinta de Alaude is a very modern building, which is home to Maarten. There are two spacious guest rooms: "Colheita", for max. 2 persons and "Reserva", a family room for max. 4 persons. The rooms are fully equipped; incl. private bathroom, air conditioning and free wifi. The cozy patio is the central point of the Quinta, where also the daily breakfast is being served to you.
