The house sits on 300m2 of the 2600m2 of natural meadow. The whole house is framed in the concept of Vagar - an expression that translates as "without having to do" but in full awareness of what surrounds us, sheep and the Alentejo plain. The floors are entirely made of sun-dried handmade clay tiles, white masonry and warm terracotta tones. Its spaces are generous in light, always respecting the tradition and history of their setting The land is bathed in the intensity of the sun and, due to its altitude, offers a magnificent view to the north of the montado and the Serra D'Ossa. A swimming pool creates harmony between silence, light and the landscape. The common and private functions are organized over a single floor, and the entrance to the house is through the central area, having opted for a functional organization that allowed for the creation of well-defined zones. The entrance opens onto a space that connects the living room with the dining room/kitchen. Through the living room and dining room/kitchen there is direct access to the outdoor areas, as well as through the bedrooms facing the rear. 3 bedrooms, one en-suite, 2 of which have access to an outdoor shower.

Vagar do Pastor is located in Aldeia dos Orvalhos, in the municipality of Alandroal, approximately 180km from Lisbon and 40km from the district capital, Évora. It is 20 minutes from Reguengos de Monsaraz and São Pedro do Corval, next to the Lucefécit dam. A project by the PHDD studio that is in keeping with the typical rural architecture of the Alentejo region.
