Azuria is an authentic retreat in the Viscri village, created for those seeking genuine beauty, comfort, and a meaningful experience in a place rich in soul and history. It all began with a longing for home and childhood. A longing for the air and energy of simple, authentic places—just as I knew them in Tălmaciu, 40 years ago. I unexpectedly rediscovered that same feeling upon my first encounter with Viscri. That’s when I knew we wanted to stay here. What followed was the search for a house and a restoration process carried out over more than four years. The two Saxon houses, Casa Vitraliilor and Casa Lalelelor, were brought back to life alongside local craftsmen, under the guidance of Mr. Dan, who coordinated the work with respect for every detail. Natural materials, solid structures, and authentic furniture—restored or crafted by the community—preserve the essence of the place. Azuria is not a guesthouse in the traditional sense, but an experience of living in an UNESCO heritage village, where time slows down and simple things are valuable. Mornings begin with the aroma of Origo’s specialty coffee, carefully brewed, perfectly balanced, and with just the right amount of milk. At lunchtime and in the evening, the kitchen comes alive under the guidance of Aunt Marcela, who cooks traditional dishes daily using local ingredients. We are the Azurians—different people, yet united by the same desire to preserve and pass on the experience of an authentic, vibrant, and welcoming place. At Azuria, the spaces are generous, the atmosphere is authentic, and comfort is not a compromise, but a promise. It is a place for those seeking more than just a place to stay—a feeling, a memory, a place to return to.
