Property info

Skay Loft is the only in-town chalet in Transylvania, a place filled to the brim with history and charm. The property is a restored lodge, originally constructed by an Italian soldier who fought in WWI for the Romanian Army, receiving this plot of land as a bravery award. The structure of the current building is made from oak hundreds years old, originated in the woods near the fortified church of Harman, 7km away. The wood is boiled in beeswax. According to our research, some of the trunks had over 1600mm diameter (we even found bullets from that time embedded in the wood). The structure is visible from any room, an engineering work of art worth admiring!

Neighborhood info

Located in the most sought-after area in Brasov, with plenty of greenery, and overwhelming silence in the night, it is almost like a country house retreat, yet a mere 10min walk from downtown. Sounds unbelievable, but it is true! If you are lucky, you can meet our permanent guests, the squirrels, the blackbirds and the cuckoos, depending on season. The street name is given by a painter, Gusztav Kollar, who lived nearby, and whose paintings, mainly snapshots of the Schei Neighborhood (spelled Skay), Poiana Brasov and Postavaru Mountain, can be admired in the Art Museum, located downtown. You can follow his steps, and actually recognize the places that some of the paintings where inspired from.
