There is no TV, encouraging genuine interaction, but plenty of ways to enjoy your time together: card games, Rummikub, chess, and other board games. Music lovers will enjoy the many instruments available to use responsibly, adding a special, playful touch to the stay. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to inspire relaxation, connection, and meaningful moments in a peaceful, natural setting. With professionalism and dedication, we also organize, upon request, personalized experiences such as nature outings, hiking trips, cultural evenings, or guided “local tours” that showcase authentic traditions and flavors of the area. Nearby, there are local gastronomy spots, horse-riding centers, and countless trails for hiking, cycling, or horseback adventures. Our location is truly special, set where the Șureanu, Retezat, Parâng, and Vâlcan mountains meet, right at the entrance to the famous Transalpina road and just 30 minutes from the Straja ski resort. This unique positioning makes it an ideal base for exploring some of the most spectacular landscapes in the region, in every season. Cultural highlights include, amongst other sites, the Petrila Mining Museum, the I.D. Sârbu Memorial House, and the Momârlanului Museum, which hosts lively local events. Colorful folklore festivals, such as the Momârlani fairs, bring the traditions of the region vividly to life. In winter, the area is all about the magic of snow and enjoying a warm cup of tea. In summer, you can savor aromatic teas carefully harvested from our garden or nearby surroundings. As a host, I’m happy to provide up-to-date information and suggestions, and upon request, I organize guided hikes (in German, English, or Romanian), tailored for both individuals and groups—ensuring every guest can relax, explore, and enjoy meaningful moments.
