This is the place of once upon a time. A wonderfully restored century old traditional noble house that once belonged to the village teacher is now standing proud overlooking stunning Carpathian Mountain scenery in a tiny hamlet with just few houses. It sits in a magical setting as if time stopped here long ago, in the pastoral days. The architecture is that of a house as built by the ancient Dacian people over 1500 years ago, telling a story about how people lived in these places back then.
I am an English teacher by profession, with a passion for old rural architecture and all things creative.
The house is nestled in a very small remote village of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains, the Buzau range. There are plenty of hiking opportunities in and around the village, maybe to see the local village church, built in 1758 and classed as a historic monument. Or maybe to just walk in the back garden admiring the majestic 360 degrees mountain views and the pyramid shaped stone, or the ancient deity portrait drawn on the nearest mountain peak. The place is dotted with such mysteries. Also the area is known for its tranquillity and there are numerous ancient inscriptions on rocks and in caves that can be seen with the help of a local guide, depending on your interest and trekking abilities. Should you be interested in a guided walk, we will try and make all arrangements for you, however, we cannot guarantee the guide can speak English well enough.
