Our house is located at 23 km from Curtea de Arges on the road Transfagarasan (DN7C) in the village called Capataneni. Our manor is the Memorial House of George Stephanescu my great-grandfather who was the founder of the Romanian Opera, it was build on 1873 in a Swiss style, in collaboration with an Italian builder and was reconditioned and arranged by the arhitect Victor Stephanescu the eldest son of the G.Step. We have 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one extra toilet, fully eqquiped kitchen and storeroom and 10,000sqm of garden with slide and trampoline, perfect for 4 family's with children. The manor has been restored, is a place full of history and memories, it feels like going back to the years 1890 to 1940, it has all the origins furniture which gives it a unique touch, you will discover the history of the romanian Opera founded by G.Stephanescu his careear as composer, canto teacher of some famous artists and opera conductor. In the back of the yard you have some stairs who let you discover the beautiful view of the attic specially at sunset. It's a perfect place for discovering a part of the Romanian history, close to touristic attractions, for hikers, but also relax for week.
Welcome to our house!!! You can contact owners for any kind of issues (problems with equipment in the house, advice for attractions to visit...). In the garden we have fruits and organic vegetables, we offer you the "tuica". Possibility of buying organic product, milk, cheese, eggs, fresh trouts and fresh strawberries. Sometimes the owners can be there during your stay.
The manor is situated near Curtea de Arges, surrounded by mid-high mountains in the village of Capataneni at 3 km from Cetatea Poenari wich is the castle of Vlad Tepes you can join it by climbing the stairs, at 8 Km you have also Barajul Vidraru and 53 Km is Balea Lac which is famous spot for hiking and climbing. Many attractions to be seen or visited around: Manastirea Curtea de Arges (23 km) Biserica Domneasca Curtea de Arges (23 km) Cetatea Poenari - Vlad Tepes (4 km) Barajul Vidraru (8 km) Balea Lac (53 km)
