Open from May 1 - October 31st, the Village Cottage was previously operated as The Magic Cottage, a homestay featured in the Netflix travel documentary series 'Flavours of Romania', and is a renovated traditional house in the heart of the Salt Region of conveniently located 3 KM away from the famous Salt Mountain geological nature reserve of Praid, Day trips can be planned to nearby salt lakes and spas of Sovata; the artisan pottery village of Korond; the Madarasi, Hargita and Homorod thermal resort and mountain getaways; and, UNESCO World Heritage site Sigisoara, the birthplace of Count Dracula. The Cottage offers two rooms, a terraced room upstairs and a garden room downstairs both with matrimonial beds. The rooms can be rented together or separately. Smoking is only permitted on the terrace and in the garden. The terraced room of the cottage has been converted into a spacious and comfortable room with an ensuite bathroom featuring a stand-alone clawed-foot bath and hand held shower. It has its own terrace overlooking the garden and the forest beyond. The spacious garden room is on the ground floor and has an ensuite shower room. The two front windows of the room look over the garden and back window onto the neighboring farmer's wood stack. Both rooms have a mini refrigerator and either a chest of drawers or wardrobe, armchairs or a sofa, and a desk and chair. Both rooms offer high-speed internet and smart TVs suitable for all work activities. Up to two extra beds (folding cot) can be added to either room. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots, pans, a kettle, a toaster, a four burner gas range, a fridge and a table that can seat four. An outdoor grill and patio bench and table are also available for guest use. Guests are given keys to the front gate, their room and the kitchen, which they are free to use. There is parking outside the house or in the lane.

The Cottage is located in the picturesque Ocna de Jos, known as the "lower salt village". The village is rustic and set back in time boasting, old family homes, churches, a school and friendly villagers. Enjoy the sounds of horse drawn carriages, a still common form of transportation within the village and curious flocks of ducks that wander the lanes. Nearby small grocery stores are stocked with essentials, Fresh farmers milk can be purchased from an automatic dispenser in the main square. The village is also equipped with a small doctor's office and a fire station. The Village is known for its traditional carnival celebrations and archery club. Nearby Praid (3km) has an indoor and outdoor salt thermal wellness centre with a spa and pools.
