We are passionate about the delicate yet powerful and enduring cultural heritage of the Romanian, Transylvanian village - and of Viscri as a uniquely well preserved Saxon medieval village in particular. We strived to respect the local vibe and preserve the use of traditional materials and techniques where possible, while aiming to sharing with guests that special experience of a place they might have been long wondering about.

Property info

Following an almost two-year-long overhaul and a pandemic winter, Viscri 44 welcomes guests again starting spring 2021. With a new ownership and management, the Guesthouse aims to bring the best of both worlds, tradition and rural charm with modern comfort and amenities. We employ authentic antique rustic furniture, hand-made textile, ceramic and decorations in renovated rooms with electronic heating regulation and fully refurbished en-suite bathrooms. The green grass courtyard with winding stone-paved alleys is a peaceful and serene oasis where you can seat and listen to the bird chirping along with the life of a traditional village still pulsating. We aim to provide valuable customer service to our guests, with dedicated touristic information and assistance for meals and activities booking.

Neighborhood info

The sloped Church street, one of the stone-paved streets of the village, is particularly quiet as mostly pedestrian. Our house is at a stone's throw away from the UNESCO heritage-site, the 13th c Viscri Medieval Fortified Church. Besides the visit of the monument and museum which is particularly interesting, the village offers a few nice options for eating local foods and also activities such as horse-back riding, cycling on the dedicated paths around etc.
