Kitabi Eco-Center (KEC) is located just 2 km from the Eastern entrance to Nyungwe National Forest. It sits atop Mount Kitabi, and offers one of the most spectacular, panoramic views in all of Rwanda: neat, terraced farms perched on endless hills; light green tea plantations that frequent this region; the dark green trees of Nyungwe Forest; and a seemingly endless sky. Neither words nor pictures can do it justice; you have to be here to experience it! KEC offers camping, a fantastic restaurant, gardens, and EcoTourism activities with an ecologically-friendly mindset. There is even a replica of the King’s Palace and two smaller huts here that you can explore, and if you want, to stay overnight! Most importantly, we believe in giving back to the local community. 10% of our profits go to support local community projects. Neighborhood info

Nyungwe National Park is the largest montane (high-elevation) rain forest in Africa. It has 13 primate species, hundreds of birds species, and other wildlife. There are numerous hikes you can do in the forest that have to be arranged with the Rwanda Development Board, but are worth it. Nyungwe is a must see in Rwanda.
