Butare is a great base for trips to the Nyungwe rainforest, Congo and Burundi, as well as to the site of the Marian apparitions of Kibeho. The university city is very friendly and offers some nice restaurants, a very lively ethnographic museum opposite our house and other interesting entertainment. From the station you have a maximum of 5 minutes to our house.
