Hammarby Sjöstad is today a modern residental district, rich in stores and restaurants. At the same time, nature is barely 3 minutes from the hotel building. If you're interested in a neighborhood about 20 minutes from the city center, with lots of stores and local restaurants and yet very near of a nature reserve with skiing and sports activities - you've come just to the right place! Hammarby Sjöstad was one of Stockholm's most ambitious urban development projects. What was once an industrial site is now converted into a new city district - a new generation of sustainable eco-friendly stores and projects grew in the area. It has, as a neighborhood, less road traffic, more green areas, lower energy consumption and 50% less environmental stress than other city districts. ApartDirect is located only 3 minutes from public transport that takes you to the city center in 20 minutes. A few minutes from the hotel building in the opposite direction, you will find Hammarbybacken - a strong symbol of the area's shining environmental achievements! This is a place where you can go for long walks, skiing, running, or just enjoy the beautiful nature.

Neighborhood info

The area of Hammarby Sjöstad is surrounded by water, and there's plenty of beautiful strolls to enjoy around the local neighbourhood. When staying with us, you need only walk about 5 minutes from the premises to find local restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and coffee shops. Take a stroll in one of the beautiful parks and enjoy the water canals, or explore the boutiques stocked with antique secondhand wares, have a swedish "fika" (coffee-break) or why not take the ferrie over to the beautiful island Djurgården where you can visit the amusement park, museums and aquariums? Nya Carnegiebryggeriet is a brewery housed in a former light bulb factory. It opened in 2014 in collaboration with Carlsberg and Brooklyn Brewery, and now offers a large outdoor terrace overlooking the water and serves an ambitious menu. Hammarbybacken skii slope is also a popular destination, open to skiing during the winter and downhill cycling, running, hiking and kayaking during spring and summer. If you're travelling with kids, perhaps Anders Franzén's park is worth a visit. It includes an outdoor playground with a shipyard in miniature, a workshop and tugboat!
