The cottage is a modern 55 sqm retreat with an open-plan layout, high ceilings, one bedroom with a double bed, and a loft with two single beds and one extra bed. Bed linen and towels are not included. You are welcome to bring your own, or rent a set for 200 SEK/20 Euro per person. If you would like to rent bed linen and towels, please let us know before arrival and we will have them ready in the cottage for you. On the terrace, you'll find a private spa pool heated to 38–40°C year-round. During warm summer days, the temperature can also be lowered for a refreshing dip. The cottage is located in a peaceful corner of our garden overlooking Lake Färingen. The garden is shared with the host couple, but the cottage, terrace, and spa pool are positioned to ensure minimal visibility between the properties. We are nearby if you need any help, but otherwise you can enjoy the peace and privacy of having your own space. Guests are welcome to use the garden seating areas, trampoline, and swings. A lovely swimming spot with a small sandy beach and rocks is located about 1 km away.
The Hosts We are Anna & Stefan, living in the house next door and running Sweden Cabins – four unique holiday homes in northern Bohuslän. We are available if needed but let our guests enjoy their holiday in peace. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions – we are always close at hand. Sweden Cabins consists of: • The Blomsholm Cabin – garden cottage with hot tub (sleeps 5) • The Buar Cabin – country-style home with large terrace (sleeps 8) • The Solhem Cabin – charming house with retro kitchen (sleeps 8) • The Nordby Cabin – cozy family home close to shopping and nature (sleeps 6)
The cottage is surrounded by beautiful walking trails and one of Sweden's most remarkable ancient monument areas. Just a few hundred metres away is Blomsholm, home to Sweden's third-largest stone ship, a spectacular ship-shaped monument built more than 1,000 years ago. The area also features a stone circle and several other ancient remains set among old oak trees. A scenic walking loop starts just 50 metres from the cottage and takes about 20–30 minutes to complete. Strömstad town centre is only a 6-minute drive away, offering restaurants, shops, seaside promenades, and ferries to the Koster Islands. Koster is Sweden's only marine national park and a popular destination for swimming, hiking, cycling, and exploring the archipelago. The Blomsholm Cabin is ideally located between Gothenburg and Oslo, with both cities reachable in about 1.5 hours by car.
