Fjällfrid was built by two families with a great desire for mountain life. The daily running is managed by Joakim and the help of hosts and cleaners.

Dear Guest, You are most welcome to the cottages of Fjällfrid (“Northern mountain peace”) in Härjedalen. We have tried to create a unique experience for you in our traditional houses with a designed interior that lacks no features to make your stay complete. We hope the pictures give justice to what you can expect. Fjällfrid is four cottages which have received names from the mountain animals around us: Järven (wolverine), Ripan (grouse), Fjällugglan (mountain owl) and Fjällräven (arctic fox). When you make your reservation you will receive a message at Booking with information from us and the name of the house you have chosen (if this is not the case you must contact us). The pictures at the reservation system are the best representation of what you can expect from each entity. Each of the houses have their own spabath and/or sauna as shown in the pictures. The kitchens of our houses are very well equipped and there is a nice grocery store in the valley so can certainly make some nice cooking when you come home from the mountain.

This is where wilderness begins, the road stops and the mountains take over. The outdoor life started early here and was developed by two families resulting in great attractions such Europe’s best rated crosscountry skiing area, a charming downhill facility which offers both skiing and bike riding but maybe most importantly access to Fjället, the northern mountains of Sweden. For those of you who desires easy access there are mountain roads and lifts that will take you up to the flatter terrain. There you are rewarded with great views of peaks all the way into Norway and a beautiful landscape of mountain birches and as you get to higher elevations plenty of flowers and small bushes. If you are into adventures you can choose from an array of activities such as climbing, river kayaking, islandic horseback riding, fishing, hunting, etc. We are located in the genuine village of Bruksvallarna which is just big enough to have its own school. You will see cows and sheep in the meadows and can buy the local produce from the dairy and the smokehouse. There is a handful of very nice little restaurants
