A big hello from Fiona (Scottish) and Alex (German), and a warm welcome to our magical hideaway in the forest! A cosy little group of cottages tucked away in the woods along a tiny gravel road with no more than the occasional passer-by… yet with all mod cons, a sauna and a wonderful lake for both swimming and fishing (there is a boat too!). Comprising one larger and three smaller buildings, sleeping 2 + 2 (main house), 2-3 (bastu cabin), 2-3 (faraway cabin) and 2 (little cabin) guests respectively, Geta is perfect for larger groups. The garden around the cottage is not fenced, but the road leading past the house is extremely quiet and therefore great for families with children and dogs (please ask in advance if you want to bring your four-legged friends, for which we may request a small contribution to cover additional cleaning costs). There is ample space for grilling outside in the summer and a wood-burning stove in the living room to add ambience on chilly winter evenings (firewood available on request). There is space for at least four cars right outside the door😊 If you don’t have your own bedlinen and towels with you, you are welcome to use ours (SEK 150 per person per stay). As for cleaning, we welcome guests who leave the property as they found it, but realise that this may not always be possible (early start?). We are happy to take over cleaning on request, for which we ask 500kr for the main house, 250kr for the bastu (sauna cabin and bedroom) and 150kr for each of the other cabins. PLEASE NOTE: we are currently renovating this property, so by the spring there will be a new floor and new bathrooms in the main house, a new kitchen, etc. We will post new pictures as we move ahead:)

As for us, we moved to Sweden in 2024, having exchanged our fast-stream, international careers for a lifestyle that makes it possible to enjoy the things we truly value on our lovely 40 ha. forest/farm just north of Karlshamn, where we have dogs, horses, goats and chicken. Having lived, worked and travelled extensively in four continents, we have experienced at firsthand how much it means to experience a country from the inside and are determined to help our guests do just that – that little bit of ‘insider knowledge’ can make or break a holiday! We have a passion for nature and the environment, so buying local, reusing and recycling are high on our agenda. There is a TV at each of our cottages, but it is our hope that guests will prefer to be outside, enjoying what nature has to offer, or even enjoying interaction with each other (good old-fashioned conversation, games!). We strongly encourage guests to help do their bit by separating waste, made very easy in Sweden, where your rubbish bin already has 8 separate compartments… Our other businesses include our line of 100% recycled printable knitwear (t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies), tableware and drinking straws made from palm leaves (nothing else!), in addition to a small business promoting locally produced delicacies (some we make ourselves are very suitable for the BBQ).
