This delightful cottage offers attractive and comfortable accommodation. It is located is close to urban Sweden, but a world away from the stress of city living. The property is set on the village green where you are surrounded by lush greenery, large trees, and quietness. This traditional wooden property offers charming and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people and would suit a family or a group of friends. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, two bedrooms, living room with direct access onto a spacious south-facing veranda with comfortable outdoor furniture and BBQ. It has all the modern amenities you would expect including free Wi-Fi, dishwasher and washing machine. It is available all year round; there is nothing more relaxing than watching the sparkling of an open fireplace during the cooler months. It is well placed for exploring the surrounding nature and is within a short walking distance to the lake with its sauna. The village green offers enough room for playing and fun for the little children. But you also have the possibility for picking blueberries, lingonberries, wild raspberries, depending on season, or just go mushrooming for chanterelles in the surrounding forest. You may also see signs of moose, fox, reindeer, many varieties of birds and even bear or wolf. Come visit Sweden, there is plenty to do all year round!

The previous owners, Sharon and Agneta, decided to stop SWESCOT, and sell the two cottages that were left. But when Samuel and Fiona came to visit their friends in Kolforsen in 2022, their love for Kolforsen started to grow, So, they came back and after a few visits decided they wanted to buy both cottages and restart SWESCOT, which is a whole new adventure for them. The cottage are located in a quiet village and Samuel and Fiona want to let other people experience the tranquillity and beauty of Kolforsen. Because Samuel and Fiona still live in the Netherlands, they drive here regularly to enjoy the quietness and walking in the forest as if they are the only ones. And that is exactly what they want to share with their guest, the freedom and safety they feel here. And that’s why they asked Sandra to take care of you. Sandra lives with her husband Jerry in one of the original SWESCOT cottages ‘THISTLE COTTAGE nr 39’. Sandra knows a lot about Kolforsen. The history, the geology and the beautiful places as well as various paths through the forest, where she walks her dog Aslan. She speaks 3 languages (English, Swedish and Dutch. And she does understand German, but doesn’t speak it) Jerry and Samuel known each other for 40 years!

The hamlet, where the properties are located, is tranquil, with only 15 permanent residents. The nearby village, Ockelbo, prides itself on being close to nature, beautiful scenery and that Prince Daniel (married to Crown Princess Victoria) grew up here. The county is great for everything you can possible think about if you think of Sweden; within 4 hours driving you can experience everything that Sweden is famous for. We also have good cooperation with organisers so whether you want to go skiing, fishing, dog sledging, berry picking, wolf watching, canoeing - or anything that takes your fancy - we can help you organise it.
