A rustic wooden chalet built into the hillside, nestled among the trees with south-facing windows overlooking the lake. The cabin has a simple kitchen on the ground floor and a sleeping area upstairs with a large bed and cozy living space. This is a true wilderness retreat: there is no running water, but a water dispenser provides water for basic needs, and guests use an outhouse. For a luxurious experience, a private sauna with a stunning view can be booked, with the option to follow it up with an exhilarating ice bath in the lake. This is a Swedish sauna, which means it has both warm and cold water available and is a perfect substition for the missing shower. Our friendly dogs sometimes run free on the property and love to cuddle, adding a warm and playful touch to your stay. Perfect for adventurous travelers seeking peace, privacy, and an authentic off-grid Arctic experience.
I’m an outdoor enthusiast and the operator of a dogsledding company in the Arctic, together with my husband Zbynek and our 16 dogs. We love sharing the wilderness experience with travelers who appreciate nature, solitude, and adventure. We’re happy to provide guidance about the cabin, local surroundings, and optional experiences like the private sauna or ice bathing, but this is a self-catering retreat where guests enjoy complete privacy and the rhythms of life in the forest.
The chalet is perched on a quiet hilltop, with a lake on one side and a river on the other. In winter, guests can walk across the frozen river to reach the Icehotel in about 10 minutes, as well as a small local shop. A few neighbors live nearby, but most are well hidden by the trees, ensuring privacy and a sense of seclusion. Guests can book a dogsledding tour with us, enjoy free access to snowshoes. The northern lights can sometimes be glimpsed from the lake or river, and on rare occasions, strong displays can be visible directly above the property.
