Vålkojan is created for couples and small families who are looking for a close to nature, romantic and cozy accommodation in the mountains with proximity to all of Vemdalen's assets in the form of skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, golf and cycling. Our ambition is to provide the opportunity for a scenic living where you get time for mindfulness and enjoyment in a quiet environment after a day of activities. We have the ambition to give a little more sense of luxury and living close to nature, while we work hard for sustainable values. Vålkojan has its own source with mineral water and the cottages are heated with geothermal heat. At the accommodation, you bring your own bed linen and do the final cleaning to reduce the climate footprint. If you want, you can rent bed linen and buy cleaning service. In the 2021 season, we completed Vålkojan Lodge which is interiorated in old fashioned cottage style mixed with modern design.

Take the chance and live in the wild Härjedalen nature on the shores of the river Veman. Take advantage of the opportunity to take a canoe trip on the river water and see beavers and moose directly in the wild. With a little luck, you can also experience encounters with both bears and otters. Why not hike along the river on the old raft path and in the winter, take a ride on the snowmobile trail around the corner. Ski resorts are around the corner and the Sonfjället National Park is not far away. With us you can take a nice sauna bath and a refreshing dip in the river after a day in the fresh air, or why not roll in the snow in the winter, and then relax in the relaxation room overlooking the river. Charcoal grills are available at the barbecue area, the fish in the river and berries and mushrooms in the forest around the corner, it does not get more fresh. Book a cozy and modern log cabin with ridge-high ceiling, wood burning stove and porch directly on the waterfront. The rent includes the use of the sauna/relaxation cabin, laundry room and canoes. In 2021, we opened Vålkojan Lodge, a luxuriously renovated 300sqm timber lodge at the waterfront, optimized for 3 families

Vemdalen is the heart of Härjedalen’s wild nature. In the winter, this is Sweden's third largest downhill skiing area with three ski resorts within a 5–25 minute drive from Vålkojan. In winter, there are fantastic ski slopes, ski trails and snowmobile trails around the corner at Vålkojan. If you prefer randonee, Sonfjället National Park offers fantastic off-piste skiing if you want to "earn your turns". In summer there is wonderful conoing in the Veman river, which is also known for fly fishing for grayling, char and trout. There are also many ponds, streams and lakes that have plenty of fish nearby. Härjedalen and hiking are closely linked. There are lots of day hikes in Vemdalen and the surrounding area. You must not miss the beautiful waterfalls and if you want to see bears, moose or beavers, safaris where you have a great chance to see the animals in their proper elements are arranged. On your own you can also meet otters, capercaillies,cranes and golden eagles at Vålkojan and if you are looking you can find a number of different wild orchids on the mountains. Culturally there are plenty of shops and exhibitions for crafts, carvings and art in both Sami and folk style.
