House Hortenzija Luče Hortenzije – or Hydrangea in English, grows in large, lush bushes, with colorful round snowball flowers in white, green, pink, violet, blue, or mixed colours. They love shady corners with slightly acidic soil. They grow throughout the valley, but also beside our house. They are your hostess` favourite flowers. Our family fell in love with the house, the moment we stepped in. It was very different then, with all the hues of yellow and brown you can imagine, but filled with magic and wonders. Every step revealed another little treasure. Antiques. Paintings. Charm. Previous owners kept the house with love, and after brainstorming options, we decided to continue down their path. We renovated the house for ourselves – and for you, dear guests. To give it functionality, but keeping her charm. House Hortenzija Luče is a hundred years` old lady. We didn`t want to strip it of its` dignity. May she age on, and hold us, like a grandmother hugs her grandchildren. She is wooden. She creaks and cracks. Dormice run across her roof in the night. She has a few woodworms as friends, who she quietens, before she goes to sleep. We chase away her spiders – but they always return.

Dearest guests, I am so happy you chose to stay in our family vacation house! We love to come and escape the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives in Koper (coastal part of Slovenia). We can truly enjoy the peace of the quiet village and it helps us reconnect. I work as in the stressful real-estate business, so Luče is my go-to place, where I forget about screens, and rather talk to my two kids or listen to the birdsongs and the river. Summer is a wonderful time to go to the upper Savinja valley, so we enjoy going on hikes to the nearby mountains and valleys and visit relatives and friends. We adore all kinds of animals. Interestingly, we inherited a stray cat with 4 kittens when buying the house in 2021. Three of them are still alive, and like to come to our garden to feed. They are very shy, so if you manage to pet them - you are definitely an extraordinary person :) The house is tended by our friend, mrs. Renata. She and her daughter take care of the cats. Mrs. Renata makes sure the house is clean and ready for you, and collects the tourist fee you leave in the apartment. If you see a gentlemen tend to our garden - that is mr. Bine, our friend and neighbour! We are incredibly lucky to have such people in our lives. I am forever grateful they help us maintain our property and business, while we run our lives on the other side of the country. The best thing about renting our vacation home so far, has been meeting incredible people from all over the world! Your appreciation of this old house warms my heart every time. Luče Luče is a peaceful, enchanting village, located by the mighty mountain river Savinja. Due to its location, and rich mountaineering history, it was awarded the Mountainous village status in 2019. It invites visitors to experience its original alpine architecture, which encaptures the spirit of the older days. Surrounded by the formidable Kamnik-Savinian Alps mountain range, it is an excellent starting point for all active holidays` lovers.
