As a family of six, living here among the vineyard-covered hills, we want to share with you our experience. This is the thought that gave us the drive to buy and renovate a house in our hometown of Kog, which was struggling to defy time. The house is perched on a hill with a beautiful panoramic view of the wine hills between the Drava and the Mura rivers and Jerusalem in the heart of Prlekija. It stands on the foundations of an old wooden press, which we restored by hand with family skills, environmental considerations and a great deal of respect for antiques. We used local stone and several types of local wood. We have used an environmentally friendly preservative for it. The timelessness of the rural ambience is felt when you enter the house, which is adorned with a unique tiled wood-burning stove, a kitchen and dining table made from local oak in a workshop at home, and a few pieces of antiques dating back 100 years. The antiques have also been restored in our own workshop and protected with wax from our bees. The rest of the interior, which had already been written off, has been given a chance to come back to life. We wanted to be sustainable. We succeeded, and we are proud of it. The cosy living area extends onto a covered terrace with an unforgettable sunset. HIŠKA POD KLUMPO (Klumpa is the top of the hill under which the accommodation is situated and is a great viewpoint) is located in the safe, quiet village of Kog.
