Olea Vista Place – Where the View Steals Your Heart
Wake up above the Adriatic, surrounded by olive trees and complete silence.
No neighbours, just breathtaking views of the sea, saltpans and endless sky.
Five minutes by car from the beach, yet a world away from everything.
There are places you visit… and there are places you feel.
Olea Vista Place is one of those rare hilltop escapes where the world suddenly goes quiet. Surrounded by olive trees and with no neighbours in sight, it feels beautifully private — just open sky, birdsong and the Adriatic stretching out in front of you.
Our three apartments are newly renovated, modern and cozy, designed to feel like a small sanctuary after a day by the sea. Some offer dreamy open views, others open directly into the garden among olive trees. Mornings are slow here. Coffee tastes better. Evenings last longer.
Olea Vista Place is family-run, and we personally welcome every guest. We love sharing our favourite spots and helping you discover the region beyond the obvious. And of course, you’ll meet our beautiful, gentle Rough Collies. If you are REALLY lucky, you might even get to cuddle our Rough Collie puppies, which, according to many guests, is reason enough to visit.
This is not a hotel. It’s not a crowded resort. It’s a peaceful corner of Slovenia where you can breathe deeply, slow down, and experience the Adriatic from above.
If you’re dreaming of a place that feels undiscovered, authentic and quietly spectacular — this might just be it.
Neighborhood info
From here, the view is something special. Below you lie the saltpans glowing in the sun, the sea of Lucija and Portorož shimmering in the distance, and across the bay the outline of the Croatian coast. In the evening, the sunsets turn the entire horizon gold and pink. It’s the kind of view that makes you put your phone down and simply stare.
And yet, you’re only a 5-minute drive from Portorož beach, restaurants, bars and shops. You get the best of both worlds: complete peace when you want it, lively coastal energy when you feel like stepping out. A car is necessary — but that’s exactly what keeps this place so wonderfully quiet.
The area offers endless experiences. Walk through the Sečovlje saltpans and watch rare birds in their natural habitat, then unwind at Thalasso Spa Lepa Vida right in the middle of the salt fields. Spend a sun-kissed afternoon in Portorož strolling along its elegant seaside promenade, where palm trees sway gently and the Adriatic sparkles beside you. Pause for cake and coffee at the beloved Cacao, famous for its irresistible desserts and sea-front terrace.
As evening falls, settle into a waterfront restaurant and savour fresh seafood, local olive oil, and crisp Slovenian wines while the sky turns shades of pink and gold.
Just 15 minutes away is Piran, a romantic, Venetian-style town of narrow stone streets, colourful houses and a beautiful square that opens directly onto the sea. Another coastal village is Izola, which charms with its fishing village atmosphere, while biggest coastal town Koper surprises with its renovated beach park and lively old town.
For day trips, you can explore the spectacular Škocjan Caves or Postojna Cave, visit the elegant Lipizzaner horses in Lipica, cycle scenic coastal and countryside routes, or cross borders effortlessly, to Trieste in Italy or the Croatian towns of Umag and Poreč. Ljubljana’s vibrant old town and castle are within easy reach, and Lake Bled looks like something out of a storybook.
