Murgle is a neighborhood in Ljubljana. To the north, it borders Cesta v Mestni log, and to the south, it borders the artificial drainage stream Mali graben. Mokrška Street divides it into Nove (New) and Stare (Old) Murgle, where typical single-story houses are located. This part of the city was also known as the residence of some Slovenian political figures (Milan Kučan, Janez Zemljarič, Janez Stanovnik, and Janez Drnovšek, who moved into the house where Stane Dolanc lived until 1989). Therefore, it was considered a synonym for a more luxurious part of Ljubljana; previously, this status was held by Rožna dolina. The construction of Murgle houses began in the 1970s. The Murgle settlement project received the first prize in a competition in 1965, and the projects and construction took place between 1965 and 1988
