We are a family of mountaineers and farmers living on this place for centuries and we love to share our story with you.

Property info

Šenk's homestead is the pearl of the Alpine architecture and typical nucleated rural settlement of the area. Here we find eight buildings; all roofed with wooden roofing in a layout designed more than 500 years ago. It was built after the big lake which was covering Jezersko valley disappeared in the 14th century. The engraved year 1521 above the door of the main building tells us of its age. Original buildings and architectural style have been preserved and the main house of the homestead is today protected under the national cultural heritage scheme. We are aware of its great value, and for the love of our ancestors we are going to protect it for the next generations and we are happy to share its history with you today.

Neighborhood info

At any time of the year there are numerous possibilities to spend time actively in Jezersko and its surroundings. Hiking is one of the most popular ways of spending time outdoors as mountains and hills with numerous paths surround the valley. Here you will find walking and hiking trails from easy to demanding ones, high-mountain trails for more experienced hikers and numerous rock climbing routes. There are also many options for moutain bikers. In winter time you can make beautiful tours as a ski mountaineer or enjoy cross-country skiing trails starting right at our door, that leads you around the valley. For those who rather put skates on their feet, lake Planšarsko jezero and artificial skating rink next to it offer pleasant skating polygon. At Šenk´s homestead for visitors there is a chance of table tennis. We also rent ferrata set, mountain and e - bikes and cross-country skiing equipment. For those interested in cultural history there are many treasures of our 500 years old farmhouse to be discovered. And of course as befit, on the farm there is always something to do. In our yard you can meet dogs, cats, chicken, ducks, sheep, goats, cows and pigs. For all the foodies, we serve home made traditional Jezersko dishes as "masunjek" or "žganci". Šenk’s homestead offers plenty of activities for everyone – here you definitely won´t be bored!
