Our mountain hut is situated in Rajecká dolina, in the woods of the Strážov Mountains in the Mala Fatra National Park. You can admire deer and does directly from the window, our best neighbour is bear, wolf and lynx. The accommodation is suitable for active people and families , who love mountains, adventures, sports and making new friends. We are a low-cost facility. Our tourist class accomodation is not suitable for people who are looking for luxury.
Dear mountain friends, Our family lives already 20 years in these woods and runs Chata Žiar hut. We would love to show you all the beautiful places of Mala Fatra. If you would like to learn something new, we can provide some archery training, axe throwing, paintball, via ferrata training,... we offer lovely homemade meals and drinks. We are looking forward to your visit!
If you want to explore maximum, you have to stay a few days There are beautiful cycling and hiking routes waiting for sportsmen, who do not like overcrowded places. There are lovely opportunities for skiing, ski-touring, and cross-country skiing nearby. Spa Aphrodite in Rajecké Teplice or open air thermal swimming pool Veronika in Rajec provide great opportunity to relax. If you want to go for a walk, you can visit some sacral attractions in Rajecká Lesná village, e. g. Slovak Bethlehem or Frivald Calvary, or enjoy the look at Frivald Geyser.
