Pension Astoria is a historic villa from 1896, located in the spa village of Ľubochňa in the Liptov region. The accommodation combines the character of the place with a calm atmosphere and a focus on guests’ comfort. What makes the pension special is its setting, history, and personal approach. The villa, the peaceful spa village, and the proximity of the forest create a natural sense of relaxation from the very first moment. It is a place where there is no rush and where every guest has space to feel comfortable and welcome. An important part of the stay is the opportunity to slow down – to relax by the pool, in the garden, or simply after returning from a day trip. Pension Astoria is a small and quiet guesthouse with seven rooms. There are no parties, discos, or loud evening events. Peace and quiet prevail here, something our guests choose deliberately. At the same time, the village center is only a few minutes away on foot – about a four-minute walk. Each room has been renovated with attention to detail and care for the space. The rooms differ from one another, each with its own character and suited to a different type of guest. This variety is part of the charm of a small pension where nothing is anonymous and everything has its purpose. The atmosphere of the pension is calm, informal, and intentionally far removed from anonymous hotel facilities.

We are a family-run guesthouse, personally looked after by Ingrid and Peter. There is no corporation behind it – just two people who care about this place. We treat every guest individually. We are happy to advise, help, have a chat, and recommend trips, restaurants, or a good place to relax. It matters to us that you feel welcome, comfortable, and at ease – like in a place where you don’t have to pretend or play any role. We believe in simple things: decency, respect, and a human approach. And if you are happy to return, we know we are doing things right.

Ľubochňa is not a place where you simply stay overnight on the way somewhere else. It is a destination in its own right. A spa village surrounded by forests, mountains, and valleys, where you feel that time moves more slowly – yet there are more experiences to enjoy. Directly from the village, you can access the Ľubochňa Valley, the longest valley in Slovakia, ideal for cycling, walking, and quiet exploration of nature. There is also a historic spa park, spa buildings dating back to the time of Emperor Franz Joseph I, and a more than one-hundred-year-old hydroelectric power station, all of which give Ľubochňa a unique atmosphere of a traditional spa resort. At the same time, you are in the Liptov region – within easy reach of aquaparks, caves, castles, mountain areas, and natural swimming spots. One day you can head out for experiences, the next you can enjoy peace, good food, and simply slow down. Ľubochňa also has an active community life. Especially during the summer, smaller local events take place almost every weekend – village celebrations, volunteer firefighter events, goulash cooking, concerts, dancing, and community gatherings. Thanks to this, the village has a pleasant, lively, yet still calm atmosphere. Local gastronomy is another pleasant surprise. For such a small village, you will find a highly rated pizzeria and a steak bistro serving local meat, as well as traditional regional flavors – bryndza sheep cheese, žinčica (sheep whey drink), and other local products that you can enjoy on site or take home with you. Ľubochňa is ideal for those who do not want to just stay overnight, but want to stop, slow down, and spend a few days in a place worth returning to. One night here is simply not enough.
